Observation
Normalization calibration failed
(continued)
Perform verification using RNase P plates
Verification should be performed under the following circumstances:
• After installation and before first use of the instrument and the block
• After performing instrument and block calibrations
• As needed to confirm instrument and block performance
The instrument and block require valid ROI/uniformity, background, and dye calibrations to perform
verification.

One or more wells produced
spectra that deviate significantly
from the rest of the array card.

Chapter 7 Calibrate and verify instrument performance
Perform verification using RNase P plates
Recommended action
1. Locate the wells with the abnormal signal
(see "View the calibration images"
page
101).
2. Rotate the array card 180°, then perform
the calibration again.
3. Determine the location of the contaminated
wells again. If the positions of the wells
identified in the steps above are:
• Identical: The sample block is
contaminated. Decontaminate the
sample block.
• Reversed: The normalization array
card is contaminated. Discard the
consumable, then perform the
normalization calibration using a new
normalization array card.
4. If the calibration fails again, contact
Support.
