Installing the Fan

1. If you haven't already done so, remove the side cover. See
"Removing the Side Cover" on page 16 for instructions.
2. Install the new fan, as shown in Figure 7-9.
Position the fan so the tab is facing towards you and the
power cable extends from the bottom of the fan.
Align the tabs on the fan with the holes in the chassis. Slide
the fan into the space to the right of the processors until it
snaps into place.
Insert the power cable into the plug below the processors on
the system board.

3. Replace the side cover. For detailed instructions, see "Replacing
the Side Cover" on page 21.
4. Reattach the power cord.
5. Turn on the system. For detailed instructions, see "Turning On
the System" on page 11.
