Acknowledging Error Messages

When detecting an error, a message is sent by the PROFIbus I/O module to the
safe PLC. More information about error detection by the PROFIsaf I/O module is
available in the section "Diagnosis" > ... > "Error Response" and in the section
"Diagnosis" > ... > "Diagnosis of Errors".
In the PROFIsafe I/O module, passivation of the process data is automatic in the
event of error detection and message. During this process, all digital inputs and
outputs of the PROFIsafe I/O module are passivated by outputting the substitute
values (fail-safe values) instead of actual process values.
To reset the passivation, acknowledgement is required by the user. A call for
depassivation of the process data in the PROFIsafe I/O module is displayed by the
F-Host with the "Acknowledgement Request" signal. The actual signal
designation for the acknowledgement request depends on the manufacturer of the
controller.
Two variants are available to carry out the depassivation:
