4.2.5.4 Main Board Shield Plate Removal

1. Remove the upper housing. (See section 4.2.1.)
2. Remove the front housing. (See section 4.2.2.)
3. Remove the printer mechanism. (See section 4.2.3.)
4. Disconnect all the connectors on the C228 Driver Board.
(See Table 4-3.)
5. Remove 1 screw (CBS, 3×6) securing the grounding plate to the main
board shield plate.
6. Remove 1 screw (CBS, 3×6) securing the grounding plate to the left
frame.
7. Remove the grounding plate. (See Figure 4-22.)

REMINDER
As shown in Figure 4-22, the FFC in connector
CN10 is marked with an "O." This is the FFC for
the left printhead.
CAUTION
CN14, CN15 and CN16 are the same size. The
printer can be damaged if cables are inserted
into the wrong connectors. These connectors
and the 1-pin of their corresponding cables
have been color-coded (in red, black, and blue,
respectively). Carefully check the cable and
connector colors during assembly.
8. At the front of the printer, remove 2 screws (CBS, 3×6) securing the
main board shield plate to the left frame, then remove the main board
shield plate. (See Figure 4-23.)

After replacing the C228 driver board, refer to
 
Table 5-1 and perform all necessary adjustments.
