4.5 ASF DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY

The gears in the auto sheet feeder (ASF) are precisely aligned. Follow
these instructions when disassembling or assembling it. You may need to
disassemble the ASF if:

The upper surface sensor is defective, causing multiple sheet loading,
a paper loading error, or a fatal error when the printer tries to feed a
sheet of paper.

Gear (10), combination gear (24, 24) or gear (24) skips.
The paper feed roller doesn't rotate correctly, even when combination

gear (24, 24) is manually rotated counterclockwise.
The user pulled paper out after a paper jam, damaging or detaching

the curlers on the ASF.

The rubber surface of the paper feed roller is worn out, causing
frequent paper load errors.
