The second test pattern represents the current Normal Dot bidirectional
value: the first test pattern represents a value offset from the current
printhead gap adjustment value by –20, the second test pattern is
offset by –18, and so forth. When you decrease the bidirectional
adjustment value, even lines move to the right. When you increase the
bidirectional adjustment value, even lines move to the left.
9. Select Adjustment on the Bidirectional Adjustment screen and press
Enter. The following screen appears.

10. Select the dot type whose bi-directional value you want to change, and
press Enter. A screen similar to the following appears. (In this example,
an adjustment is being made to the Normal Dot bi-directional value.)

11. Use the up and down arrow keys to select an adjustment value, then
press Enter. The following screen appears.

12. If you want to adjust the MicroDot or Super Dot bidirectional values,
press the ESC key once to return to the dot selection screen, then
repeat steps 10 through 11. When you have finished making
adjustments, continue with the next step.
