MAINTENANCE MODE (LEVEL 1)

1. While the printer is off, press the Cleaning, Eject, and Operate buttons
simultaneously to enter this mode. The Operate light flashes, and the
black ink out light and all tray lights come on.
2. Press the Reset button until the lights indicate the maintenance
procedure you want:
Black ink out light: Interface selection
Cyan ink out light: Parallel interface speed selection
Magenta ink out light: HEX dump
Yellow ink out light: PC437-PC850 code page selection
3. To select a procedure, press the Eject button.
The Maintenance Mode (level 1) procedures are described below.
 Interface Selection
1. Choose Interface Selection from Maintenance Mode (level 1) as
described above. The Operate light flashes, and both tray lights come
on.
2. To select an interface, press the Reset button to cycle through the
parallel, serial, and optional type-B interfaces until the desired one is
selected:
Black: Auto select
Cyan: Parallel interface
Magenta: Serial interface
Yellow: Optional Type-B interface
3. To save the setting, press the Eject button or turn the printer off. If you
press the Eject button, the interface setting is saved, and the printer
exits the maintenance mode and returns to an idle state. If you turn the
printer off, the interface setting is saved, and the printer exits
maintenance mode and shuts off.
 Hex Dump Mode
1. To enter Hex Dump mode, choose Hex Dump from Maintenance Mode
(level 1) as described above. The Operate button flashes, and the
printer enters Hex dump mode.
2. To exit Hex Dump mode and Maintenance Mode (level 1), turn the
printer off.
 Parallel Interface Speed Selection
1. Choose Parallel Interface Speed Selection from Maintenance Mode
(level 1) as described above. The Operate and standard tray lights
flash, and the lower tray light comes on.
2. Press the Reset button to toggle between high and standard speed:
Black Ink Out light on: High speed
(Sets the /ACK signal time to 0.5 s)
Cyan Ink Out light on: Standard speed
(Sets the /ACK signal time to 2 s)
3. Press the Eject button or turn the printer off to save the setting. If you
press the Eject button, the setting is saved, and the printer exits
maintenance mode and is ready to use. If you turn the printer off, the
setting is saved, and the printer exits maintenance mode and shuts off.
