4. Decide which set of lines on the printed sheet is vertically aligned.
Press the Reset or Eject button until the printer lights display the
pattern corresponding to your choice (see Table 1-17). Then press the
Cleaning button to make the adjustment.

FIRMWARE UPLOADING MODE

If necessary, EPSON will release upgrades to the EPSON Stylus Pro 5000
firmware. You can upgrade the printer's firmware from a PC by following
these steps:
1. To enter the firmware uploading mode, press the Operate, Cleaning,

Reset, and Eject buttons simultaneously. Transfer the IPL2.HEX file to

the BIOS first. The IPL2.HEX file prepares the BIOS to accept new

firmware.

2. Type the following command at the DOS prompt:
Copy X:IPL2.HEX LPT1
During transmission, the Black Ink Out light comes on. The Cyan Ink
Out light comes on when the transmission is complete.
3. Wait 2 or 3 seconds after the transmission is complete. Then transfer
the main firmware file, K0xxxx.HEX, by typing the following command:
Copy X:K0xxxx.HEX LPT1
During transmission, the Magenta Ink Out light comes on. The Yellow
Ink Out light comes on when the transmission is complete.
4. Exit this mode by turning the printer off.
