4.3 INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE
OPTIONAL PAPER GUIDE ROLLER
This section explains how to install and remove the optional paper guide
roller, which is attached to the paper feed cassette. The paper guide roller
is designed to improve paper feeding for large sheets of special media,
such as A3- or Super A3/B-size glossy paper.
The paper guide roller is available from EPSON (part number 1040445).

4.3.1 Installing the Paper Guide Roller

1. Insert the left side of the roller into the corresponding space in the
paper cassette, and insert the hook on the right side of the roller into
the proper hole on the cassette. (See Figure 4-70.)
CAUTION
When installing the roller, do not disturb
the panel protecting the paper type/size
sensor cable.
2. Firmly push down on the roller until it clicks into place.

4.3.2 Removing the Paper Guide Roller

1. Turn the paper cassette upside down. Use a flathead screwdriver to
gently release the large hook under the paper type lever, as shown in
Figure 4-71.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently release the two small hooks under
the paper size lever, as shown in Figure 4-72. Then remove the paper
guide roller.
