4.4 GEAR TRAIN DISASSEMBLY AND
ASSEMBLY
The Stylus Pro 5000 gear train is complicated and precisely aligned. These
alignments must be maintained during assembly if the printer is to operate
correctly. See section 4.4.1 for disassembly instructions, and section 4.4.2
for assembly instructions.

4.4.1 Gear Train Disassembly

1. Remove the upper housing. (See section 4.2.1.)
2. Remove the front housing. (See section 4.2.2.)
3. Remove the printer mechanism. (See section 4.2.3.)
4. Remove the printheads. (See section 4.2.5.3.)
5. Remove the carriage motor. (See section 4.2.5.8.)
6. Remove the carriage. (See section 4.2.5.10.)
7. Remove the paper eject frame. (See section 4.2.5.11.)
8. Remove the upper paper guide. (See section 4.2.5.12.)
9. Remove the pump frame. (See section 4.2.5.13.)
10. Remove 1 screw (CBS, 3×6) securing the rotary damper set, then
remove the rotary damper set and the washer behind it.
