5.3.10 Replacing a LAN Switch

Prerequisites
Impact on the System
The monitoring system or devices in the area where the LAN switch is to be replaced may be
shut down.
Preparations
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, ESD gloves, marker
Material: spare LAN switch
Documents required: documents delivered with the LAN switch
Skill requirement: weak-current engineer
Procedure
Step 1 Mark ports on the LAN switch and cables connected to the LAN switch.
Step 2 Remove the power plug of the LAN switch.
Step 3 Remove all cables connected to the LAN switch.
Step 4 Remove the faulty LAN switch using a screwdriver.
Step 5 Replace the LAN switch, as shown in

If the VCN500 power indicator is steady green, the VCN500 is working properly.
If the network port ACT indicator blinks green, data transmission is normal.
If the hard disk active indicator blinks green, the hard disk reads data properly.
A LAN switch needs to be replaced.
A spare LAN switch of the same model is available and functional.
