5.3.10 Replacing a LAN Switch

Prerequisites


Impact on the System
The monitoring system or devices in the area where the LAN switch is to be replaced may be
shut down.
Preparations
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, ESD gloves, marker
Material: spare LAN switch
Documents required: documents delivered with the LAN switch
Skill requirement: weak-current engineer
Procedure
Step 1 Mark ports on the LAN switch and cables connected to the LAN switch.
Step 2 Remove the power plug of the LAN switch.
Step 3 Remove all cables connected to the LAN switch.
Step 4 Remove the faulty LAN switch using a screwdriver.
Step 5 Replace the LAN switch, as shown in

 If the VCN500 power indicator is steady green, the VCN500 is working properly.
 If the network port ACT indicator blinks green, data transmission is normal.
 If the hard disk active indicator blinks green, the hard disk reads data properly.
A LAN switch needs to be replaced.
A spare LAN switch of the same model is available and functional.
