5.5.3 Replacing a Gas Release Indicator

Prerequisites


Impact on the System

Preparations
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, protective gloves, step ladder
Materials: spare gas release indicator, key to the fire control box door
Documents required: fire extinguishing device layout diagram
Skill requirement: fire extinguishing engineer
Procedure
Step 1 Cut off the power supply to the fire control panel, remove screws securing the gas release
indicator to its base, and remove the gas release indicator, as shown in
Figure 5-56 Removing the fastening screws
Step 2 Remove the cables from the faulty indicator, and connect the cables to a new gas release
indicator (polarity insensitive).
Step 3 Install the new gas release indicator.
Step 4 Power on the fire control panel.
Issue 01 (2016-01-10)
A gas release indicator is faulty.
A spare gas release indicator of the same model is available and functional.
