Changing LOGO! to normal/slave mode

LOGO! 0BA7 provides a menu command for network communication settings. The section
Configuring network settings (Page 119) showed you how to configure the network IP
address, subnet mask and gateway for your LOGO!. This section shows you how to change
LOGO!'s network communication mode.
A LOGO! 0BA7 device works in either normal or slave communication mode.
Normal mode versus slave mode
A LOGO! 0BA7 in normal mode supports client-server communication with SIMATIC S7
PLCs, a SIMATIC HMI or other 0BA7 devices across Ethernet. This LOGO! can additionally
act as a master to communicate with one or more 0BA7 devices in slave mode.
A LOGO! in slave mode functions as a LOGO! expansion module. No circuit program is
required for slave LOGO! devices. A master LOGO! can read one or more slave LOGO!'s
digital/ analog input values and write its own digital/analog output values to these slaves.
This helps LOGO! achieve network I/O expansion.
Note
A LOGO! in slave mode can also have its own expansion modules. It also supports a
maximum of 24 digital inputs, 8 analog inputs, 16 digital outputs and 2 analog outputs.
