service due date.
You can hide this service message by using the
back button on the left-hand side of the steering
wheel.
You can obtain further information concerning
the servicing of your vehicle from a qualified spe‐
cialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz service
centre.

Carrying out maintenance work regularly
* NOTE Premature wear through failure to
observe service due dates
Service work which is not carried out at the
right time or incompletely can lead to
increased wear and damage to the vehicle.
Always observe the prescribed service
#
intervals.
Always have the prescribed service
#
work carried out at a qualified specialist
workshop.
Special service requirements
The prescribed service interval is based on nor‐
mal vehicle use. Service work will need to be per‐
formed more often if the vehicle is operated
under arduous conditions or increased loads, for
example:
regular city driving with frequent intermediate
R
stops.
if the vehicle is primarily used to travel short
R
distances.
for frequent operation in mountainous terrain
R
or on poor road surfaces.
if the engine is often left idling for long peri‐
R
ods.
in particularly dusty conditions, or if air-recir‐
R
culation mode is frequently used.
In these or similar operating conditions, have the
interior air filter, engine air cleaner, engine oil and
oil filter, for example, changed more frequently. If
the vehicle is subjected to higher loads, the tyres
must be checked more frequently. Further infor‐
mation can be obtained at a qualified specialist
workshop.
Battery disconnection periods
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display can
only calculate the service due date when the
battery is connected.
Note down the service due date displayed on
#
the instrument display before disconnecting
the battery (
page 270).
