REPLACEMENT OF CONNECTING ROD
BUSHINGS
1. REMOVE CONNECTING ROD BUSHING
Using SST and a press, press out the bushing.

2. INSTALL NEW CONNECTING ROD BUSHING
(a) Align the oil holes of the bushing and connecting
rod.
(b) Using SST and a press, press in the bushing.

3. HONE ROD BUSHING AND CHECK PISTON PIN
FIT IN CONNECTING ROD
(a) Using a pin hole grinder, hone the bushing to obtain
the specified clearance between the bushing and
piston pin.
(b) Check the piston pin fit at normal room temperature.
Coat the piston pin with engine oil and push it into
the connecting rod with your thumb.
