Preface

This guide describes how to operate the Storage Technology Corporation
4410/11/20/30 and 9310/11/20 Automated Cartridge System (ACS). Most of the
information is hardware oriented.
For specific software commands and console messages, refer to the appropriate software
operator's guide. For specific cartridge subsystem information, refer to the appropriate
cartridge subsystem publications.
This guide is intended primarily for data center operators. System programmers and
administrators also might find information contained in this guide useful. This guide can
be read entirely; however, it is more important that you familiarize yourself with the
overall organization and location of various information for reference purposes.
