F. To make sure that each exhaust system slip joint is correctly attached, and to examine all of
the flange joints at the transition inlet, measure the distance from the mark (made earlier)
(Figure 5) to the end of the right exhaust pipe. If this measurement is less than 0.75 in. (1.95
cm), replace the pipe.
G. Measure from the mark to the end of the intermediate exhaust pipe (Figure 5). If this
measurement is less than 0.75 in. (1.95 cm), replace the pipe.
H. Examine the flange face and the area inside the flange mouth at the end of the exhaust pipe
for cracks and distortion (Figure 6).
