Measure the ID of the
crankshaft main bearings
installed in the crankcase
(Figure 13).
Measure the OD of the
crankshaft at the bearing
locations.
Measure the ID of the
camshaft bearing saddles
formed by the crankcase
when assembled.
Measure the OD of the
camshaft at the camshaft
bearing saddle locations.
Compare the difference between each crankshaft bearing ID and crankshaft OD measurement and
the difference between each camshaft bearing saddle ID and camshaft OD measurement to the
allowable clearance in the latest revision of the Service Table of Limits - SSP-1776.
