Information that can be displayed on the modules:
• The serial number and the software version.
• The IP address, the Network Mask, and the Gateway Address.
• The MAC Address.
The following table shows all the information on the module:
Information
Description
This is the address assigned to the modules at the moment of connection to the
network. It consists of four bytes (for a total of 32 bits), each of which can have a value
from 0 to 255.
By default, allocation is dynamic. With dynamic allocation, the modules wait to receive
the IP address from a DHCP server.
IP Address
Without a DHCP server, the modules adopt an Autoconfiguration IP Address in the
range 169.254.xxx.xxx, calculated in a pseudo random manner so as to be the same
at every switch-on.
As an alternative, you can enable the static IP address option, which allows the IP
address to be forced. In this case, you must make sure that the IP Address inserted is
different from that of the other devices connected to the same network.
This is the subnet mask, and identifies the method to recognize the subnet to which
the modules belong, with the possibility of searching for the modules within a defined
Network Mask
set of recipients.
If you enable the option Static IP Address, you must also enter the correct Network
Mask.
It is the IP address of the node to which the modules are connected, in case of
multiple subnets.
Gateway Address
If you enable the Static IP Address option, you must also enter the correct Gateway
Address.
MAC Address
It is the address assigned by ABB, having an OUI equal to ac:d3:64

identifies the manufacturer of an Ethernet device.
the paragraph "Ekip Connect software" on page 245):
• With Ekip T&P module connected to the trip unit, and serial scan (see page 246).
• With Ekip Bluetooth module connected to the trip unit, and Bluetooth scan (see page 245).
• With the modules connected to the Ethernet network, and Ethernet scan.
With serial or Bluetooth scan, the configuration is possible only with Local Bus enabled.
In addition to the parameters for setting the addressing of the modules, the following options are available
on Ekip Connect:
• Enable IEEE 1588, to enable the IEEE 1588 protocol for the distribution of the clock signal and synchronization.
• IEEE 1588 master, to set the module as master in the network segment to which it belongs.
• IEEE 1588 delay mechanism (End-to-End / Pear-to-Pear), to set up the IEEE 1588 protocol in accordance
with that of the grid.
• IEEE 1588 time zone, to select the time zone.
• IEEE 1588 Daylight Saving Time, to select whether or not the country to which the time displayed on the
trip unit uses daylight saving time.
• Disable Gratuitous ARP, to enable/disable the periodic generation of an ARP Gratuitous message, used
by Ekip Connect to quickly find the modules with an Ethernet scan without knowing their IP addresses
in advance.
With Ekip Connect it is also possible to choose between two modes for accessing the trip unit, Standard
mode or Password required. In the case of Password required, when selecting the trip unit access mode
remotely (on the display, see the menu Settings - Modules - Local/Remote) and with access via the Ethernet
module, new settings are accepted only after inserting the user password (which is the same as the one that
must be inserted for any setting from the display).
NOTE: the password can be inserted without having to type any leading zeros.
