Service manual
Dispose of or store the pressurized calibration gas container in accordance with your
local regulations.
If the calibration or calibration check is unsuccessful,
Verify that the test CO2 concentration is correct according to the certificate of
analysis provided by the vendor.
Check the sample line for occlusions or leaks.
Verify that the sample line is firmly attached to the input connector.
Check that the filter is not blocked.
Rerun the calibration check or calibrate procedure.
To record the results of your test, go to "Service record."
ECG functional test
The ECG module does not require any calibration or routine maintenance other than
cleaning. This functional test should be performed to verify the ECG module is
functioning properly after the Connex Vital Signs Monitor (VSM) case has been opened
or you suspect a problem.
Test setup and required equipment
Connex VSM with software version 2.30.01 or later
A Welch Allyn Connex Devices ECG module
3-lead and 5-lead AHA or IEC cables
A calibrated stopwatch
A patient simulator meeting the following requirements:
General acceptance criteria
Heart Rate: within +/- 3 beats per minute or +/- 3%, whichever is greater
Respiration Rate: within +/- 2 breaths per minute or +/- 2%, whichever is greater
ECG heart rate is complete within 10 seconds plus 5 patient heartbeats after an ECG
measurement is started (10 seconds plus 5 x 60/HR).
Note
Impendence respiration is complete within 10 seconds plus 5 patient breaths after
an ECG measurement is started (10 seconds plus 5 x 60/RR).
Supports outputs for lead RA, lead LA, lead LL, Lead RL, and Lead V when using
a 5-lead patient cable
Supports outputs for lead RA, lead LA, lead LL when using a 3-lead patient cable
Generates heart rate between 20 and 300, inclusive
Generates ECG amplitude between 0.5 mV and 5.0 mV, inclusive
Generates ECG width between 40 ms and 120 ms, inclusive
Generates irregular rhythms (asystole, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular
fibrillation)
Calibrated to ISO/IEC 17025 standard
A tolerance of +2 seconds will be considered to
accommodate human errors while starting or stopping
stopwatch during requirements verification.
