Appendices
ATTACK
Adjusts the envelope attack times of the filter and amp. This
specifies the attack time that starts at note-on.
Turning the knob toward the left will shorten the attack time, and
turning it toward the right will lengthen the attack time.
Note: For the range of 065...127, lengthening the filter and amp
envelope attack times will simultaneously adjust the amp EG
setting as well.
This corresponds to control change #73.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.
RELEASE
Adjusts the envelope release times of the filter and amp. This
specifies the time from note-off until the sound fades to silence.
Turning the knob toward the left will shorten the release time, and
turning it toward the right will lengthen the release time.
This corresponds to control change #72.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.
EFFECT
MASTER FX
Switches the master effect on/off setting of the program,
combination, or song.
When you switch this, the GLOBAL mode GLOBAL>SYSTM
"MFX" settings will also change.
Off (LED unlit): The master effects (MFX1, MFX2) are off.
On (LED lit): The master effects (MFX1, MFX2) are on.
This corresponds to control change #94.
Note: The state of this setting is maintained while the power is on.
It will not change even if you switch favorites, programs,
combinations, or MIDI songs.
Note: This on/off setting cannot be saved. When the power is
turned off and then on again, the setting is reset to Off.
INSERT FX
Controls the "Wet/Dry" balance of all insert effects.
Turning this toward the left reduces the amount of effect to Dry
100% at a value of 000; turning it toward the right increases the
amount of effect to Wet (or -Wet) 100% at a value of 127.
In Sequencer mode you can't save the setting.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.
MFX2/REVERB
Controls the "Wet/Dry" balance of MFX2 (master effect 2).
The default value is 64. When you turn the knob, the name of the
effect used by master effect 2 is shown for a time.
For preload sounds, either a reverb-type or a delay-type effect is
assigned to master effect 2, so this setting increases or decreases
the level of these spatial-type effects.
If no effect is assigned to master effect 2, the display
indicates "No Effect," and this setting does nothing.
When the knob is in the center position, the setting will have the
value specified by the program parameter or combination
parameter.
Turning the knob toward the left decreases the amount of effect,
and at a value of 000 the level of reverb or delay will be zero.
304
Turning the knob toward the right increases the amount of effect,
[000...127]
and at a value of 127 it will be at the maximum.
Note: Since the master effect section does not output the Dry
signal, this boosts or cuts only the level of the Wet signal. The
actual effect output level is multiplied by the MFX2 Return value.
When the return value is 127, the maximum level is obtained when
the knob is turned all the way to the left.
Note: If the MASTER FX button is off, master effect 2 will also be
off.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.

AUDIO IN 1
ON/OFF (AUDIO IN ON/OFF)
Selects whether an external audio source connected to the MIC IN
or LINE IN jack will or will not be input.
Off (LED unlit): External audio input is off (default setting).
If you're not using the input from the MIC IN or LINE IN
jacks, leave this Off.
On (LED lit): External audio input is on.
This inputs an external audio source connected to the MIC IN or
LINE IN jack.
When you press AUDIO IN, the on/off status is shown in the LCD
for a time. While this is shown, pressing the button located below
[Off, On]
the "QUICK SETTING" indication opens the "QUICK
SETTING" dialog box, where you can set various parameters for
audio input.
Note: The selection of external input jack can also be made using
REALTIME CONTROLS section's AUDIO IN 2, or the GLOBAL
mode G-INPUT>AUDIO IN "SELECT" setting.
Note: The state of this setting is maintained while the power is on.
It will not change even if you switch favorites, programs,
combinations, or MIDI songs.
Note: This on/off setting cannot be saved. When the power is
turned off and then on again, the setting is reset to Off.
GAIN
[000...127]
Adjusts the level at the input stage of the external audio signal
that's being input.
So that the sound does not change suddenly while you're
performing, the GAIN value does not change until the
position of the knob matches the current value. Once you
have turned the knob to the position of the current value, you
can adjust the value.
When you turn the knob, the value is shown in the screen for a
time.
While this is shown, you can press the WRITE (MENU) button to
[000...127]
save the setting.
While this is shown, pressing the button located below the
"QUICK SETTING" indication opens the "QUICK SETTING"
dialog box, where you can set various parameters for audio input.
The value specified using REALTIME CONTROLS is linked with
this Gain parameter. Detailed settings other than Gain are made
here.
Note: QUICK SETTING and the save-destination will change
depending on the audio input settings of the currently loaded
program, combination, or song. For details, please see "Global
audio input settings (G-SET) and individual settings" on page 22
of the Operation Guide.
MFX2/REVERB
Adjusts the send level at which the external audio signal that's
being input is sent to master effect 2.
