Overview dashboard

The Overview dashboard displays the details at overall storage level in the form of widgets. The Overview
dashboard widgets are Performance, Component, Continuous Access, and Capacity.
During the threshold duration, if a metric or a component crosses the threshold limit in an array, then the
status of that array changes to Critical or Warning state. For example, if the IOs metric for a threshold
duration of 6 hours (from 6 A.M. to 12 P.M.) indicates crossing the threshold at 10 A.M. and recovering to
normal state at 11 A.M. PA flags the metric to be either in the Critical or the Warning state..
NOTE: PA has set default threshold values for metrics such as the response time. You can modify
the values according to your environment.
The Overview dashboard displays the following:
Donut and tabular data: Displays the statistics of the array, such as total number of IOs, total data
transfer in MBs for all the arrays managed by PA. When you hover the mouse over a donut, the
corresponding information is displayed inside the circle for an array. For further analysis at the
individual component level, click a donut to go to the respective screen.
Bar graphs: Displays the maximum and average information of the respective metrics for all the arrays
managed by PA.
Status icon: Displays the arrays in Ok, Critical, Warning, or Unknown state. The health status in
each of the widgets is determined based on the threshold duration and values set for component
metrics in the Threshold Settings screen. The default threshold duration for monitoring array
performance is 6 hours.
Number: Displays the total number of arrays in a particular state.
For further analysis at the individual component level, click a status icon or a number to go to the
corresponding dashboard screen. The respective dashboard screen sorts and lists the array based on
your selection of the status icon or the number. If you click the Critical icon or the number representing
the array in the Critical state, the corresponding dashboard displays the critical arrays on the top. It also
displays the consolidated data of the first array in the list.
