The Config and Performance Collection table displays the list of command device records for all the
arrays that are monitored by PA.
2. Select the command device record corresponding to the array for which you want to collect the
configuration data.
3. Click Create Config.
4. Select Collection Period as Recurring.
5. Select one of the following as the Collection Schedule. By default, the collection is scheduled for every
Sunday at 00:00 hours:
Hourly
Daily
Weekly
Monthly
6. For Hourly Schedule specify the following :
Hours for Hourly option
Start time for Daily option
The day and the schedule start time for Weekly option
For monthly option, select either Based on Date or Based on Day. Select the Date of the Month
and the schedule Start Time for Based on Date option.
Specify the Day of the Week, the week to which the day belongs in Week of the Month, and the
Start Time for Based on Day.
7. For XP disk array enter the SVP IP Address, and for XP7 disk array also enter the User Name and
Password.
8. Click Create.
If you want to edit a configuration collection schedule which you have created, select the command
device corresponding to the array for which you want to edit. Click Create Config, and in the Create
Config page, modify the recurring schedule, and click Create.
PA starts collecting the configuration data for the array through the selected command device. The
Collection Status shows a white circle indicating the collection is in progress . After the configuration data
is collected, the Collection Status icon displays a green circle indicating the collection was successful.
The Timestamp column displays the updated time stamp when PA completes receiving the latest
configuration data. The latest configuration data is automatically updated in PA. If there are new
components that you want to monitor, enable the associated performance data collection schedules to
automatically collect data for the new components (RAID Groups and ports).
NOTE: If there are multiple command devices for an array, you can create or edit the configuration
collection schedule on any of the command device. Configuration schedules on any other command
devices created previously is deleted.
