With every configuration data collection for an array, PA gets the latest internal raw disk capacity of
that array or the latest physical usable capacity of that array. These values are updated under Array
Capacity (TB) in the License screen. So, it is necessary that the SVP for the array is online and
accessible, not locked by any other user, or under maintenance.
If configuration data collection is in progress for an array, PA stops collecting configuration data in the
following cases:
If the physical usable capacity of a P9500 or XP7 disk array or the internal raw disk capacity of an
XP disk array cannot be updated
In such a case, PA displays the following error message in the Collections screen:
Array capacity data could not be fetched through SVP for the XP disk
array
<serial_num> or XP7 disk array <serial_num>. Ensure that the XP disk
array or the
XP7 disk array is online, the SVP is accessible and not under
maintenance, or
locked by another resource. The configuration data collection will not
be allowed
for this XP disk array until the problem is resolved.
Simultaneously, an event is also logged on theEvent Log screen. If you have scheduled a
configuration data collection and it fails, a failure notification message is also sent to the recipient
email address, specified in the Data Collection Email Settings section on the Email Settings
pane in PA Settings.
If the license has expired or licensed capacities have exceeded the grace period for an XP or an
XP7 disk array
In such a case, PA displays the following error message in the Collections screen:
Configuration collection is stopped due to license violation for array
<serial_number>
Simultaneously, an event is also logged on the Event Log screen.

Prerequisites
These prerequisites are common for both the one-time and scheduled configuration data collection:

information on creating command devices, refer to the HPE XP7 Performance Advisor Software
Installation Guide.
Procedure
1. From the main menu, click Collections.
2. Click the Config and Performance Collection table. The table displays the list of command device
records for all the arrays that are monitored by PA.
3. Select the command device record corresponding to the array for which you want to collect the
