About Processors

IMPORTANT:
This section is applicable for the P9500, the XP 24000, and the XP7 disk arrays.
The Processors component screen displays all the processors that are configured on a specified array.
You can access the Processors screen using the main menu, or drill down from the Overview dashboard.
The status of a Processor is based on the MP Blade Utilization metric. If the MP Blade Utilization for any
of the Processors exceeds the defined threshold limit during the specified threshold duration, then the
array as well as the component is flagged as critical in the Overview and the Component levels of
dashboards. For example, if the usage of a Processor for the MP Blade Utilization metric exceeded the
defined threshold at least once, then that array on which the processor is configured is flagged as critical
in the Processor Utilization section in the Component widget in the Overview dashboard. In order to
determine to cause of this bottleneck, click the critical icon. The Component dashboard is displayed with
all the critical arrays sorted on top of the master pane. In the detail pane, click the critical status icon
under the Processor component. Alternatively, click the graph title Top 10 Processors By Utilization
under Processor to redirect you to the display the top Processor consumers in the Processors screen
master pane. You can also click on an individual bar to filter and display only that processor. The height of
each bar represents the value.
In the Processors screen, see if the historical data for the Average MP Blade Util metric has gone above
the defined threshold value. If the usage exceeds the default value at least once, then it requires your
immediate attention.
You can also monitor real-time data, plot trend values for all the charts, and plot forecast lines for critical
metrics to predict behavior within a specified time frame. The default threshold duration is 6 hours.
Use the Template feature for frequent monitoring of performance metrics, and foresee performance
issues in advance. Templates can provide an at-a-glance information on the behavior of critical
components and metrics.
