About Users

PA enables you to create user records, change password, delete user records, and view group properties
using the Users screen.
After PA is installed with the authentication type selected as Native, login as an Administrator, create user
accounts, and grant them privileges (administrator or user privileges). You can also login as a
storageadmin, who is an administrator user of CV AE and has the same privileges as the administrator
user of PA.
The Security screen displays users who are authorized to use PA and their groups.
IMPORTANT:
If you see the link to Users enabled in the HPE XP7 Performance Advisor main menu, it implies
that the PA Native authentication is selected as the user authentication method during the PA
installation. This link is disabled for users who log on to PA using their system or domain login
credentials.
About creating and editing user profiles
You can perform the following functions if you login with the administrator privileges. This is to enhance
the security of the management station:
• Add and remove users.
• Change passwords for other users who have the administrator or the user privileges.
Users with administrator privileges cannot change the password for the default PA Administrator
account. You can modify the password for the default PA Administrator account only if you login as the
default PA Administrator.
• Change membership information for PA users.
A general user cannot delete self account, only the account password can be modified.

Create user records

Procedure
1. From the HPE XP7 Performance Advisor main menu, click Users.
2. From the Actions menu, click Add User.
3. In the New User page, provide the following details:
