Chapter 8 Reference

Group

[Group] allows you to store groups of channels at proportional levels .
When you select a group, Expression selects its channels . If you then
press [At] and enter a level, the console enters at percentage of the
group's recorded levels . If you press [Enter] instead of [At], the group's
proportional levels are imposed on the channels' current levels.
The fader wheel then adjusts levels in the same proportions at which
you recorded the group's channels.
For example, assume you save channels 1 through 9 at full and channels
10 through 20 at 50 percent . When you move the fader wheel, channels
1 through 9 are twice the intensity of channels 10 through 20 . In other
words, [Group] retains the channels' relative levels.
If you continue to increase the intensity levels after channels with the
highest relative level reach full, the relative levels are distorted . Channel
levels continue to increase until all channels are at full .
For instructions on using [Group] see Lesson 3, Using Group in Chapter
5, Learning advanced techniques .
Example
[Group] [1] [Enter] displays group 1.
[Cue] [1] [Group] [1] [At] [5][0] displays cue 1, then adds group 1 to it and
sets group channels at 50 percent of their recorded levels.
Numbering groups
The sum of groups and cues in a show cannot exceed 400 . However,
you can use any numbers between 1 and 999, to number groups . Group
numbers are independent of cue numbers.
