The lessons in this chapter address advanced features that allow you to
use Expression more efficiently and to create more complex lighting
effects .
Before you start the lessons you should know how to create and play
back cues and submasters and how to take manual control of timed
fades . Chapter 4, Learning the basics includes lessons on these tasks.
The lessons in this chapter will teach you how to:
Create and run multipart cues
Use Track record function
Use Track Sheet
Use Group feature
Create and run effects
Create and run subroutines
Create and run autoloads
Create and run macros
Each of these features is described briefly below.
Multipart cues
A multipart cue is a cue that consists of two or more parts. Each part is
in effect an individual cue with its own levels and upfade and downfade
times. A multipart cue allows you to simultaneously run and control up
to eight discrete looks through one multipart cue. Each part may have its
own fade and wait times. A multipart cue takes up the equivalent
storage space of three cues.
