Dim

[Dim] allows you to select a specific dimmer or a group of dimmers . The
two times when you need to select dimmers are for softpatching and for
unpatching single dimmers . For more information about softpatching,
see Chapter 3, Entering softpatch and system settings. Unpatching a
dimmer is explained below.
[Dim] lets you select a single dimmer and bring it up independent of
other dimmers softpatched into the same channel . This is called
unpatching a dimmer .
If a channel has more than one dimmer softpatched into it, you may
want to unpatch a single dimmer to check individual fixtures, to turn on a
work light, or to focus a single fixture. To unpatch a dimmer, follow
these steps:
1. Determine which dimmer you want to unpatch . You may want to
display the softpatch screen to display the current dimmer to
channel patching . To display the softpatch screen, press [Patch] .
2. Press [Stage] then [Dim] .
3. Enter the dimmer number you want to unpatch . Unpatching does
not affect the level at which other dimmers in the channel are set . If
you want all other dimmers in the channel off, set channel at zero.
4. To set the unpatched dimmer at full intensity, press [Enter] . Or, to
set the unpatched dimmer at less than full, press [At], and enter a
two-digit level . Then press [Enter].
5. Press [Dim] [Clear] to restore dimmer to patch . You can perform
most other console tasks with dimmer unpatched, then restore the
patch at any time . Entering the softpatch screen also restores patch.
Hint: You can perform a dimmer check by pressing [Dim] [1] [Full], and
then pressing [Dim] [+], to move to each subsequent dimmer. You can
write these key sequences as macros if you use dimmer checks often.
Example
[Stage] [Dim] [1] [Enter] unpatches dimmer one . [Dim] [Clear] restores
patch.
