Configure Environment Settings for Scan Services
3. Select the Tools tab on the UI.
4. Select System Settings.
5. Select Connectivity & Network Setup > Port Settings .
6. Select SMP.
a) Select Change Settings.
b) Select Port Status then select Change Settings.
c) Select Enabled, and then select Save.
d) Select Close until the Port Settings screen is displayed.
7. Select FTP Client.
a) Select Change Settings.
b) Select Port Status then select Change Settings.
c) Select Enabled, and then select Save.
d) Select Close until the Port Settings screen is displayed.
8. Select Close until the main Tools screen displays.
9. If necessary, set the IP Address; choose one of the following:
To set an IP address, refer to
If an IP address is already set, skip this step.
If DHCP or BOOTP is available in your environment, configure the method for
obtaining the address. If an IP address cannot be obtained automatically or
manual configuration is preferred, confirm the settings of an IP address, a subnet
mask, and a gateway address.
10. Select Close repeatedly until the main Tools screen is displayed.
11. Exit the System Administrator Mode.
12. Print a configuration report to confirm that all the ports are enabled and that TCP/IP
is set up correctly.
Configuration on a Computer
Create a destination folder on your computer.
1. For using FTP, create a destination folder on the server where you login, and set the
write rights on the folder.
2. For using SMB, create a shared folder on your computer and set the write rights on
the shared folder.
To use SMB on Mac OS X, set Windows Sharing to On in the Service tab of Sharing
under System Preferences.
