Stored Programming Notes and Restrictions

The following notes and restrictions apply when you create and save jobs to Stored
Programming.
The Build Job feature cannot be used with Stored Programming. However, segments
of a complex job can be saved to a stored program, and then recalled at point of
need when using Build Job. Therefore, while Build Job is running, a stored program
can be used for the remaining document stacks, which then negates the need to
program and select the options for the remaining documents stacks in the Build Job
process.
When saving a stored program which includes selecting a paper size or type loaded
in the bypass tray, save both the paper size and the paper type. If only the paper size
or type is saved, the stored program may not be called properly
If any of the following operations is performed while a stored program is being saved,
the stored program may not be saved or may not work correctly
- Removing or inserting a paper tray
- Loading or reloading paper in the bypass tray
System Settings, Job Flow Sheets, Network Scanning, Address Book, and the Browse
feature for the Scan to PC cannot be used with Stored Programming
There are situations where a stored program will become invalid:
Changing the default values of the Watermark feature when it is used in a stored
program
Changing the password to the folder used in the stored program after it is stored
Trying to use a stored program with different settings on the UI than the ones that
were saved to the stored program
When buttons are added or removed from the touch screen, since stored programming
only remembers the location of a button on the screen, not the name of the button.
For example, button positions can change when a job flow or job template is added
or deleted
When stored program that contains a selection from a list of the Address Book or a
Job Flow Sheet
When the settings for an installed optional component (such as a finisher) are
changed, then the settings within a stored program for that finisher are no longer
valid
Changing the measurement unit (millimeters or inches)
When a stored program contains a selected job that is set for secure printing
The following features and operations cannot be saved in Stored Programming:
The selection of the Store (save) option from Stored Programming
Selecting the steps to recall and run a stored program
Any System Settings features or options.
