4.21 FL Inverter Cable and Display Cable
Removing the FL Inverter Cable and Display Cable
To remove the FL inverter cable and display cable, follow the steps below and refer to Figure
4-42.
1. Turn off the power to the computer, then disconnect the AC adapter and all
external cables connected to the computer.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory module, optional PCMCIA card, FDD
or CD-ROM drive, HDD, upper cover and keyboard, speakers, keyboard base and
display assembly, display mask, FL inverter board, and LCD module (for display
cable only), as described in Sections 4.2 through 4.9, 4.17, 4.18 (DSTN display) or
4.19 (TFT display) and 4.20.
3. Remove one M2.5x6 screw securing a ground cable to the right hinge.
4. Remove one M2.5x6 screw securing a ground cable to the computer.
5. Remove one M2.5x6 screw securing a ground cable to the left hinge.
6. Remove one M2.5x6 screw securing a ground cable to the system board.
7. Disconnect the FL inverter cable, contrast control board cable (DSTN only)
and display cable on the LCD module and remove them. When removing the FL
inverter cable, note the routing of the cable through the mylar insulators.
