NOTE: Later models include a metal keyboard lock located near the upper left
corner of the keyboard. Remove the M2.5x6 screw holding the lock in place, then
lift out the lock.
6. Lift off the keyboard to access the keyboard cable.
7. Disconnect the flexible cable from PJ706 and remove the keyboard.
Installing the Upper Cover and Keyboard
To install the upper cover and keyboard, follow the steps below and refer to Figures 4-20
back through 4-18.
1. Connect the keyboard cable to PJ706.
2. Seat the keyboard. In units with a metal keyboard lock, set the lock in place and
secure it with one M2.5x6 screw.
3. Seat the upper cover and snap the latches (one on the left, two in front, and three
in back).
4. Close the display panel.
5. Secure three M2.5x4 silver screws at the back of the computer.
6. Install the HDD, optional CD-ROM drive or FDD, optional PCMCIA card,
optional memory module, and battery pack as described in Sections 4.7 back
through 4.2.
