Expanding an 8800/9320 cluster with an 8800/9320 starter kit

The following prerequisites must be complete before adding the new couplet to the existing cluster:
The 8800/9320 starter kit must be cabled to the existing cluster as described in the HP StoreAll
OS Networking Best Practices Guide.
The servers in the existing cluster must be upgraded to the current HP StoreAll OS Software
version of the HP StoreAll OS Software release (see
OS Software version information" (page

Installing the expansion server

To install the expansion server:
NOTE:
At any time during this installation process, you may, on most screens, select Cancel to

F1 to display on-screen help information.
Use the Space bar and Tab key to move between screen options or move to available screen
buttons, such as Cancel, Ok, Back, and so forth.

Log in to the server.

Boot the servers that will be in the cluster, and log in to the initial server with root.
The X9000 Installation — Welcome screen appears.

Select Begin.

Provide the host name on the Individual Server Setup screen.
NOTE:
characters and the hyphen (-) special character. It is a best practice to use only lowercase
characters in host names; uppercase characters can cause issues with HP StoreAll OS Software.
Do not use an underscore (_) in the host name.
