Removing a T640 Craft Interface

Installing a T640 Craft Interface

The craft interface is located on the front of the chassis above the FPC card cage and
weighs approximately 2 lb (0.9 kg). To remove the craft interface (see
Figure 141 on page
255):
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Completely loosen the screws at the four corners of the craft interface.
2.
Insert the blade of a flat-blade screwdriver into the slot on one side of the craft

interface, and then gently pry that side out from the chassis.
Insert the blade of a flat-blade screwdriver into the slot on the other side of the craft
4.
interface, and then gently pry that side out from the chassis.
Grasp the craft interface by the top and bottom edges, and carefully pull it straight
5.
out of the chassis.

NOTE:
When you install the craft interface in an operating router, allow
several minutes for the LEDs on the craft interface to reflect the current
state of the router.
