On a regular basis:
Inspect the installation site for moisture, loose wires or cables, and excessive dust.
Make sure that airflow is unobstructed around the router and into the air intake vents.
Check the status-reporting devices on the craft interface: system alarms, LEDs, and
LCD.
Inspect the air filters at the bottom front and left rear of the router, replacing them
every 6 months. Do not run the router for more than a few minutes without the air filters
in place.

For optimum cooling, verify the condition of the filters.
On a regular basis:
Check the air filters regularly for dust and debris. The filter elements degrade over time,
so the filter elements in use, as well as spares, should be replaced every 6 months. For
procedures to replace the air filters, see
Spare filter elements should be used within 1 year of manufacture. Check the date of
manufacture printed on the filter. Store spare filter elements in a dark, cool, and dry place.
Storing the filter elements at higher temperatures, or where they can be exposed to
ultraviolet (UV) radiation, hydrocarbon emissions, or vapors from solvents, can
significantly reduce their life.
CAUTION:
Always keep both air filters in place while the router is operating.
Because the fans are very powerful, they could pull small bits of wire or other
materials into the router through the unfiltered air intake. This could damage
the router components.
