For optimum router performance, perform preventive maintenance procedures.
On a regular basis:
Inspect the installation site for moisture, loose wires or cables, and excessive dust.
Make sure that airflow is unobstructed around the router and into the air intake vents.
Check the status-reporting devices on the craft interface: system alarms, LEDs, and
LCD.
Inspect the air filters at the bottom front and left rear of the router. Do not run the
router for more than a few minutes without the air filters in place.
Check the air filters regularly for dust and debris. As a general guideline, we
recommended that you replace the filter elements every 6 months for routers operating
in a typical environment. The filter elements degrade over time, and replacement
intervals will vary by operating environment.
