Configuring neighbor routers to use the same hello and dead intervals
About this task
You must configure neighbor routers to use the same hello and dead interval values as those
configured on Avaya routers.
Procedure
1. Refer to the vendor documentation to properly configure the neighbor routers.
2. Ensure that the parameters on the neighbor routers are set as follows:
Configure MTU sizes
You must ensure that the MTU sizes between neighboring routers match so the neighbors can
leave the ExStart/Exchange state.

You can use the following task flow to help configure matching MTU sizes between neighboring
routers.

• Hello interval is 10
• Dead interval is 40
