• The switch must be in the ACLI RIP Router configuration mode
About this task
Use the following procedure to configure the peer update timeout interval.
Procedure
1. From the ACLI RIP Router configuration mode command prompt, enter the timers
2. At the RIP Router configuration mode command prompt, enter the show ip rip

RIP routes learned with increasing cost

In some unstable networks with potential loops, routes are learned with increasing cost (until
16) even though the actual route is gone.

You can use the following work flow to help determine the solution for RIP routes that continue
to be learned with an increasing cost.

To access the ACLI RIP Router configuration mode do the following:
a. At the ACLI User EXEC command prompt, enter enable to access the
Privileged EXED command mode.
b. At the command prompt, enter configure terminal to access the
Global Configuration command mode.
c. At the command prompt, enter router rip to access the RIP Router
configuration mode.
