DTC P0136 Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Refer to "Insufficient coolant temp. for closed loop fuel control" on page EG2–473.
Diagnostic Trouble Code Detecting Condition
DTC No.
Voltage output of the heated oxygen sensor (bank 1
sensor 2) remains at 0.4 V or more or 0.5 V or
less when the vehicle is driven at 50 km/h
P01 36
(31 mph) or more after the engine is warmed up.
(2 trip detection logic)
HINT: Bank 1 refers to the bank that includes cylinder No.1.
Sensor 2 refers to the sensor farther away from the engine body.
DIAGNOSTIC CHART
Are there any other codes (besides DTC P01 36)
being output?
Check for open and short in harness and connector
between ECM and heated oxygen sensor.
Check the output voltage of the heated oxygen
sensor.
Replace heated oxygen sensor.
