OXYGEN SENSOR
OXYGEN SENSORS INSPECTION
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (–) TERMINAL CABLE
FROM BATTERY
CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from
the time the ignition switch is turned to the 'LOCK'
position and the negative (–) terminal cable is discon–
nected from the battery.
2. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF MAIN HEATED
OXYGEN SENSORS
(a) Disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between
the terminals + B and HT.
Resistance:
11 – 16Ω at 202 C (682 F)
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the
sensor.
Torque: 44 N–m (450 kgf–cm, 31 ft–lbf)
(c) Reconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
3. RECONNECT NEGATIVE (–) TERMINAL CABLE
TO BATTERY
