Configuring VLANs (CLI)

This section provides information about the commands you use to create and
configure VLANs. For more information about the commands, see the
PowerConnect 8024/8024F/8132/8132F/8164/8164F CLI Reference Guide

Creating a VLAN

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to
configure a VLAN and associate a name with the VLAN.

Configuring VLANs
Purpose
Enter global configuration mode.
Create a new VLAN or a range of VLANs and enter the
interface configuration mode for the specified VLAN or
VLAN range.
vlan-id

separate, non-consecutive VLAN IDs separated by
commas (without spaces); use a hyphen to designate a
range of IDs. (Range: 2–4093)
NOTE:
You can also create with this command in VLAN
Database mode . To enter VLAN Database mode, use the vlan
database command in Global Configuration mode.
Add a name to the specified VLAN.

— Comment or description to help identify a
specific VLAN (Range: 1–32 characters).
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
