Cleaning The Fuser Unit Cover Glass And Lamp Filter
WARNING
The fuser unit remains hot after operation. Wait until it has completely
cooled down before handling it.
Never scratch or touch the cover glass or lamps with your hands.
Fingerprints on the cover glass or lamps will cause them to break.
VORSICHT
Die Fixiereinheit bleibt nach dem Betrieb heiss. Warten Sie vor der
Handhabung bis sie sich abgekühlt hat.
Berühren Sie in keinem Fall das Abdeckglas oder die Lampen. Durch
Fingerabdrücke auf dem Abdeckglas oder den Lampen zerspringt das
Glas.
1. Turn the power switch OFF.
2. Open the printer front cover. (See page I–76.)
CAUTION
The transfer charger must be in the down position to avoid scratching
the drum.
3. Check that the transfer charger is in the down position, and if not, move it
to the down position by rotating the transfer elevator drive shaft
counterclockwise. Watch the charger movement:
a. If the charger starts to move up, it is in the down position.
b. If the charger starts to move down, continue to rotate the drive shaft

until the charger is all the way down.
