1. Ensure that the paper output transport path guide is closed.
2. Check the MC board.
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 15 of CN3, and
the negative lead on the SG.
b. Measure the voltage. If it is not 0V, replace the MC board after
checking the harness.
Error Code 09 — Transport Motor Fail (complete stop)
CHECKLIST:
1. Ensure that the main unit feed motor operates during power-on.
If the motor is operating properly, go to Step 2. Otherwise, go to "Speed
Precision Abnormality" on page I–135.
2. Check the fuse.
a. Put the leads of the digital multimeter on either side of fuse F2 on the
MC board.
b. Measure the resistance, which should be 0
If the fuse is blown, replace the MC board.
3. Check the main unit feed motor.
a. Remove the terminal connector of the main unit feed motor.
b. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on the positive terminal
connector (left side of motor), and the negative lead on the negative
terminal connector (top side of motor).
c. Power on the printer.
d. Measure the voltage. If it is not about 24V during main unit feed motor
operation, replace the motor.
4. Check the MC board.
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 2 of CN25 on the
MC board, and the negative lead on the PG.
b. Measure the voltage. If it is not 24V, replace the MC board.
