Maintaining Print Quality
To maintain good print quality, perform cleaning procedures according to the
schedules and information listed in this chapter.
If print quality problems occur, clean the following areas (see page I–29 for
tool illustrations and part numbers):
1. Perform a General Cleaning (page I–76).
NOTE: Recommended toner vacuum cleaner models are listed on page I–
2. Clean the main charger, precharger, and transfer charger. For cleaning
instructions, see page I–82.
3. If the printer is equipped with the cut sheet option, clean the pickup rollers
and the reverse rollers inside the cut paper unit, using a Toraysee cloth.

If the desired print quality is not attained after cleaning the printer, you might

Clean the drum with the drum freshener (only when smears appear
on print samples due to the drum).
Clean the LED array and the SELFOC
