Error Code 02 — Fan-fold Paper Empty: When
Loading/Beginning Print
CHECKLIST:
1. Ensure that the fanfold paper is loaded properly on the tractors.
2. Check the PBFS (paper back feed sensor).
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 8 of CN21 on the
MC board, and the negative lead on the SG.
b. Measure the voltage, which should be about 3V with PBFS blocked.
c. Remove the paper.
d. Measure the voltage between the pins, which should be about 0V
when paper is removed.
If voltage is not normal, replace the PBFS sensor after checking the
harness.
3. Check the tractor position. If necessary, move it. The left tractor should be
locked in the complete left position.
4. Check the MC board.
a. Verify that the paper moves into the printer.
b. Using the printer control panel or the engine checker, run paper
through the printer and verify that no faults occur.
c. If there are problems, check the tractors, belts, and MC board.
If voltage is not normal, replace the MC board.
Error Code 03 — Paper Jam at Fuser (C)

LAMP COOLING BLOWER (VEF1)
DRUM MOTOR
1. Ensure that the transport belt activates during power-on. If it does not
activate, see "Error Code 09 — Transport Motor Fail (complete stop)" on
page I–135.
2. Check the EPS4 sensor.
