Setup

To prepare the printer for initial operation, do all of the procedures in this
chapter.
IMPORTANT
Only do the procedures in this chapter if you have received the
appropriate training.

Power Requirements

WARNING
Do not connect the printer to the power source until instructed to do so
and until all shipping restraints have been removed.
The operator-accessible power switch does not shut off all power to the
printer. Unplug the power cord to shut off all power to the printer.

The printer must be connected to either 200, 220 or 240 VAC, single phase,
50-60 Hz (as shown on the rear side panel label). Otherwise, the printer will
not operate properly and may be damaged.
The printer relies on protective devices in the building installation for
protection. The power source must be properly grounded and rated for at
least 30 Amps service. Since large power fluctuations can cause the printer to
malfunction, it should be connected to a "noise-free" power source, not
subject to surges or noise generated by motors, lighting, or air conditioning
equipment on the same circuit. To allow for an adequate power cable run, the
printer should be placed within eight feet (2.5 meters) of the power source
outlet.
