WARNING
Never touch the tractor area while the printer is printing.
Never stare at the tractor area while the printer is printing, because the
tractor area reflects leakage light from the fuser unit.

16. Print a configuration report (see the User's Manual for instructions, if
necessary). After the print job is complete, press PAGE EJECT. Verify
that the tractor holes in the paper are still on the tractor pins.
17. Repeat step 16 above at least ten times, including pressing the PAGE
EJECT key. (This verifies that the paper feeds properly during paper
parking, as well as during forward paper motion.)

Adjusting The Top of Form

After replacing the tractor motor or tractor drive belts, do the following
procedure.
This procedure adjusts the position of the leading edge of the paper so that
when the leading edge passes the paper back-feed sensor (PBFS), the MC
board detects top of form.
Note the following:
1. Power off the printer.
2. Remove the left rear cover (see page I–239).
3. Remove the MC board retaining screws (3) shown in the following figure,
then swing open the MC board support assembly on its hinges.
The spacing between adjacent tractor pins is 1/2 inch (12.7 mm).
One complete revolution of the tractor motor shaft causes 1/2 inch
(12.7 mm) of paper motion.
