Stratasys J3 Series User Guide
To replace a print head:
1. Prepare—
Replacing print heads is a long procedure. The complete procedure
includes a series of tests and calibration tasks to verify that the heads are
installed properly and that print quality is optimum.
2. From the Wizards screen, select Head Replacement.
3. In the opening wizard screen, tap Start to begin.
4. When the following screen appears, select an option for each of the print

❒ replacement print head(s)
❒ print-head extractor
❒ print-head-driver installation tool
❒ 90% isopropanol (IPA—isopropyl alcohol) or ethanol (ethyl alcohol)
❒ disposable cleaning gloves (use clean, powder-free gloves)
❒ lint-free cleaning cloths
❒ 2.5-mm hex (Allen) key (supplied in the start-up kit)

When you tap Next, the wizard prepares the heads by heating them and
emptying the printing material. This can take up to 15 minutes.
