Chapter 4 Configuration guidelines

Downloading information from the Succession switch

Before you download information from the Succession switch, create a switch
configuration information text file on the TAPI server:

In Notepad or a similar text editor application, create a text file.

Save this text file as download.txt in the c:\m1server directory on the TAPI
server.

Connect to the Succession switch from the TAPI server in one of the
following ways:
— On a Windows 2000 server, select "Start -> Programs -> Accessories ->
— On a Windows 2003 server, select "Start -> All Programs -> Accessories

When the port settings window opens, log on to the switch.

Select transfers.

In the HyperTerminal application on a Windows 2000 server or Windows
2003 server, select the Capture Text option.

Select the download.txt file that you created earlier.

To capture information about all used terminal number blocks (TNB), enter
the following commands in overlay 20:
> LD 20
REQ: PRT
TYPE: TNB
CUST 0 (or customer number)
~
DES <cr>
213346.02
Communications -> HyperTerminal".
-> Communications -> HyperTerminal".
Note: When you log on to the Succession switch, if text does not appear,
press the Return key a number of times the login prompt is displayed.
Note: To download information from the Succession overlay
applications can take a long time.
